Dear Tiles exporters from India,

Hope all well at your end....

Saudi Customs have imposed new rules for the import of Ceramic Tiles to the Kingdom and it is effective from 1st December 2014 (there is no written circular to this effect, but, new rule has been already in effect from 1st December 2014):

1...  On the back side of each and every tile, there must be Companies Name, Country of origin and Companies Logo to be embossed.

2...  On the outer box of the tiles, there must be importers/buyer's details to be printed or fixed/pasted clearly & properly.

3...  From the shipment, custom authorities will take out few tiles on random basis and send it to their Laboratory for inspection (still it is not clear, what are the parameters or on what is the basis of their inspection).

4...  Buyer/importer has to give the undertaking, that goods will not be sold unless and until Customs Lab, will pass the quality and issue the certificate to the effect.

Please make a note of the above in your future shipments.
